LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Athletics has received a substantial gift from the Dr. Daniel L. Orr II Foundation. The gift amount was generated from the final proceeds from a life insurance policy that was in the name of Jerry Koloskie, UNLV's Deputy Director of Athletics.
"It is truly an honor for me to have been named as the beneficiary of Dr. Orr's Foundation," Koloskie said. "Dr. Orr has provided exceptional medical service for our student-athletes for many years. He is not only a valuable member of our athletics medical staff, but he is also a very good friend. This money will go to good use. UNLV has some of the finest athletic trainers in the country."
The money from this gift will be used to assist UNLV graduate and full-time athletic training staff members with financial assistance for continuing education, research endeavors and clinical skill training programs that are required to maintain athletic training certification.
"We very much appreciate the generosity of Dr. Orr and his foundation," said UNLV Athletics Director Jim Livengood. "Dr. Orr has spent countless hours helping our athletics programs and student-athletes throughout the years. He clearly cares about UNLV and we are grateful for all of his work."
