Public Invited To Get Your Rebel Gear!
April 8, 2009
LAS VEGAS - For the first time in history, UNLV fans will get the chance to purchase authentic new and game-used Rebel athletic apparel as part of the department's inaugural Inventory Clearance Sale set for Saturday, April 18.
The public is invited to the football practice fields at Rebel Park on campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day when hundreds of items will be for sale at prices ranging from $1 to $50.
Brands available include Nike, Russell and Adidas for official men's and women's team apparel such as game uniforms, jerseys, warm-ups, coaching shirts and athletic shoes as well as other souvenirs and memorabilia.
"We need to make room in our equipment offices so we thought offering these items for sale to the public is a great opportunity for Rebel fans to get some authentic gear from their favorite teams at very low prices," said UNLV Senior Associate Athletics Director Jerry Koloskie. "Just considering baseball alone, we have multiple seasons of jerseys that we need to get rid of dating back to our days in the Big West Conference."
Cash and major credit cards will be accepted and all proceeds benefit the UNLV Athletics Department.
The entrance to Rebel Park is located between the Earl E. Wilson Baseball Stadium and Lied Athletic Complex, which are near the intersection of Paradise and Harmon. Free parking is available at the baseball stadium and Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Before shopping, fans can head into Fertitta for free and catch a key Mountain West Conference match as the first-place UNLV women's tennis team hosts rival BYU beginning at 10 a.m. Then, starting at 2 p.m., the Rebel baseball team hosts Northern Colorado (followed by another game vs. the Bears at 6 p.m.). Ticket prices at Wilson Stadium are $7 for adults, $5 for faculty, staff and seniors, and children 12 and younger are free of charge. Go to unlvrebels.com for more information.
