UNLV Representatives to Attend Apple Conference
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UNLV will send a group of staff and student-athletes to San Diego, Calif. for the Athletic Prevention Programming and Leadership Education (APPLE) Conference February 6-8.
The APPLE Conference is a three-day seminar sponsored by the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports. The main content of the program focuses on drug prevention and education programs for student-athletes, coaches and administrators. Attending will be members of the UNLV Student Athlete Service Committee chaired by Assistant Athletic Director Jerry Koloskie. Koloskie will be joined by Robert Philippi, Director of Legislative Compliance, Michele Latimer, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Meri-de Boyer, volleyball student-athlete, Ty Jackson, football student-athlete and Ryan Camilles, student athletic trainer.
The program is presented by the Institute of Substance Abuse Studies at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Room and board will be provided by the NCAA.
