Joe Bartoch

London, Ontario, Canada

Student Assistant

Joe Bartoch ended his UNLV swimming career with one of the top performances in MWC Championship history, as he set new school and conference records in both the 100 free (43.63) and the 100 fly (47.12) on the way to earning 2006 MWC Swimmer of the Year honors. He was key to the Rebels winning back-to-back league titles in 2005 and 2006, and swam on a total of 13 conference championship relays, including three current conference record-setting relays.

Bartoch also made an impact on the national level, swimming on all three UNLV relays that earned All-American honorable mention honors in 2005 at the NCAA championships, and followed that up by helping the Rebels' 2006 200 free relay finish ninth in the nation, the highest finish by a UNLV relay in school history.

A native of London, Onatario, Bartoch has excelled outside of UNLV as well, winning the 100m fly in the 2004 US Open, and finished seventh in the 100m fly at the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships.
