Assistant Coach

First Season

Joe Spahn, hired in June of 2012, will serve as the Rebels' recruiting coordinator as well as coaching one of the stroke groups.

Spahn came to UNLV after spending two years at the University of Georgia, where he was an assistant coach for the men's and women's team under Jack Bauerle, and also served as an assistant coach for the Athens Bulldogs Swim Team during those two years.

Spahn was on both the swimming and cross country teams at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for his first year years of college. He finished up his collegiate career at Minnesota State University, with two more years on the MSU squad.

Spahn received his bachelor's of science degree in physical education in December of 2009 from Minnesota State, and a master's of science degree from Georgia in kinesiology in May of this year.
