2000 MWC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Rebel Notes: Alyson returns as the top distance freestyler in the conference and will serve as co-captain of this year's squad. 2002-03: Alyson scored 49 points as an individual at the MWC Championships. She won the 500 free (4:52.57) and 1650 free (16:43.74) at the MWC Championships. She also took ninth in the 200 free (1:50.89). She also swam the anchor leg of the third place 200 free relay (1:34.08) and the second leg of the third place 400 free relay (3:27.73). 2001-02: Alyson clocked the fastest times in the MWC in 500, 1000 and 1650 free. She swam the anchor leg of the MWC Championship winning 800 free relay and lead-off leg of the winning 400 free relay. She also won both the 500 free (4:50.15) and 1650 free (16:43.20), and took second in the 200 free (1:50.32). She helped UNLV to 76 points at the championships. 2000-01: Alyson was the team's second highest scorer at the 2001 MWC Championships and was named MWC Women's Freshman Swimmer of the Year. She was runner-up to teammate Lorena Diaconescu in the 200 and 500 freestyle. She won the 1650 free and was a member of the winning 400 and 800 free relays. She was an NCAA "B" qualifier. The team named her the UNLV Women's Rookie of the Year and shared Most Improved Women's Swimmer with Allison Reynolds.
High School: Alyson is a four-year letterwinner at Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, California ... is a three time MVP ... holds the school record in the 500 free and 100 fly ... was also a three-time MVP and two-time All-League honoree in water polo.
