COLUMBIA, Mo. - The UNLV men's and women's swimming teams posted three wins on the first day of action at the Mizzou Invitational on Thursday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Both Rebel teams stand in second place, with the Rebel men scoring 293 points and the UNLV women 239. The host Missouri squad leads both team standings.

The three wins came from the men's team, starting with Cody Roberts' winning time of 47.15 in the 100 fly. Balint Bakta placed third in the same event. Also winning an individual event was Giacomo Gremizzi in the 200 IM, as he touched the wall in 1:46.09. The Rebels' third win was in the 400 medley relay, as Henrique Machado, David Szele, Roberts and Samuel Lameynardie posted a time of 3:11.43.

The top event on the women's side was the 100 fly, with Katelyne Herrington placing second and Carmen Robb third. Both relays also finished in second place. Rachel Dixon, Robb, Herrington and Hilary Ego made up the 200 free relay squad, while Robb, Nakayla Chan, Herrington and Dixon teamed up on the 400 medley relay.

The three-day event continues on Friday before concluding on Saturday night.
