Rebels Wrap Up Action At Texas Invitational|

AUSTIN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished up action on Saturday at the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational, held on the University of Texas campus. The 25th-ranked men's squad finished fifth, while the Rebel women placed seventh in the team standings.
Balint Batka had the best finish of the day for UNLV, posting a fourth-place time of 1:46.44 in the 200 fly. Matt Roe was ninth in the 1650 free (15:39.12), while Joseph Riggert was right behind him in 10th in 15:42.61. Riggert was also 16th in the 200 fly in 1:54.45, while Brandon Meier added a 15th-place swim in the 200 breast in 2:03.58. The Rebels' 400 relay squad of Coleman Allen, Bart Wanot, Guilherme Passos and Paul Jovanovich finished the meet by placing 10th in a time of 3:00.26.
No. 2 Texas won the meet with a score of 981, while No. 3 Arizona was second with 903 and No. 8 USC third with 729. UCSB was fourth with 219.5, just ahead of the Rebels' score of 213.5.
Two Rebels scored in individual events for the women on Saturday. Marley Prothero placed eighth in the 200 breast in 2:13.47, while Jessica Heim was 12th in the 1650 free (16:58.66). UNLV's 400 free relay team of Katelyne Herrington, Rachel Dixon, Hillary Ego and Heim also placed 10th, touching the wall in 3:21.69.
No. 3 Texas won the women's meet as well with 841.5 points. No. 7 Stanford was second (695.5), and was followed closely by No. 5 USC (683.5). UNLV posted 110 points for seventh place
UNLV returns to action on Dec. 17-19 when it hosts the UNLV Winter Invitational at Buchanan Natatorium.
