LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV's Giacomo Gremizzi earned the first weekly honor in his career as he was named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

A senior and native of Luisago, Italy, Gremizzi won a total of four events this past weekend as the Rebels split a pair of dual meets at Arizona and Arizona State. In an 87-point win at ASU on Oct. 26, Gremizzi won all three of his events, posting times of 1:38.90 in the 200 free, 2:02.41 in the 200 breast, and 3:53.99 in the 400 IM, which is both a NCAA 'B' time and the seventh fastest in the nation this season. All three times currently lead the WAC as well. Against Arizona on Oct. 25, he added a win in the 200 IM against the Wildcats in a time of 1:50.18, also the top time in the WAC.

The Rebels' next competition will be on Friday, Nov. 1, with a home meet against Toronto at 7 pm in Buchanan Natatorium.
