LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV swimming and diving teams are hitting the road and headed to Salt Lake City to compete against the Utah Utes Saturday at 10 am.This will be the first away meet of the season. The Rebels have already swam two home dual meets, including last weekend's exhibition meet against Toronto in which UNLV claimed nine wins against the Blues.
For the Rebel men, Brad Gonzales and Robert Morgan were both double-event winners last weekend against Toronto. Avi Cohen was a single event winner in the 200 fly. The Rebel men also claimed the 200 free relay win with the help of Forrest Beesley, Or Sabatier, Avi Cohen, and Dylan Tarazona.
For the Rebel women, Mykalla Fielding shined on the boards with two individual victories. Sara Delay, Eva Kim, Sydney Schuette, and Caitlyn Schreiber helped finish first in the 200 free relay last Saturday.
"We have a long-standing relationship with the University of Utah, they are one of our oldest rivals from back when we were both a part of the same Conference," said UNLV head coach Ben Loorz. "They threw down some excellent times against Arizona last week, and we expect them to be very tough at home. For us, it is a great opportunity to post some altitude times, which enables us to accurately measure where we are at in comparison with WAC foes Wyoming and Air Force."
