UNLV weekly swimming & diving release
The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving team will have its final competition of the fall semester this weekend when it hosts the UNLV Winter Invitational on Dec. 15-17 in Buchanan Natatorium. The three-day event will also feature teams from Azusa Pacific (women), Cal State East Bay (women), Colorado Mesa, Concordia, Fresno Pacific, New Mexico (women), Pacific and Whittier College.
Two of the schools are led by former UNLV assistant coaches. Ben Loorz (2007-10) is the head coach at Cal State East Bay, while Kunio Kono (2003-12) is in his first year as the head coach at New Mexico.
All About The Rebels
The UNLV men, 3-1 on the year are ranked in both polls, coming in at No. 21 in this week's Collegeswimming.com's Top 25, and also ranking at No. 23 in the most recent CSCAA poll. UNLV's women are 1-4 and most recently placed third in the Mizzou Invitational. The Rebel men hold 11 of the fastest times in the MPSF, while the women are ranked first in four events and four relays in the Mountain West.

UNLV will return to action in 2013 with a road dual meet at CSU Bakersfield on Jan. 5 at 12 pm.
