Rebels Lose To Toreros 6-3 On Monday|

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) -- UNLV baseball (17-8, 2-4) lost on Monday to San Diego (16-8) at Fowler Park. It was the fourth and final game the Rebels played in San Diego over the weekend.
UNLV jumped out to a 2-0 lead, scoring runs in the first and second innings. USD cut the deficit in half with a home run in the fourth inning. The Rebels added another run in the top of the fifth before the Toreros blew the game open in the bottom of the seventh, scoring five runs.
UNLV starter Mark Shannon (3-1) took his first loss of the season after going 6.0 innings. He allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out two. Freshmen Kenny Oakley and Brayden Torres each made relief appearances and pitched 1.0 inning each.
Joey Armstrong (2-for-5), T.J. White (2-for-5) and Matt McCallister (2-for-4) all had multiple hits in the game for the Rebels. Armstrong, Shannon and Brandon Bayardi accounted for the three RBI for UNLV.
UNLV will return home and resume Mountain West play by hosting Air Force for a three game series starting on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The games on Saturday and Sunday will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 920 AM.
