Rebels Beat Falcons 4-1 On Friday Night|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV baseball (18-8, 3-4 Mountain West) got back in the winning column with a 4-1 victory over Air Force (8-16, 2-3) on Friday night at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
Sophomore Erick Fedde (4-0) had a stellar outing, pitching the complete nine innings allowing only one run while striking out 10 and walking one. The Falcons' Cameron White (2-5) took the loss after pitching six innings, allowing four runs, three of which were earned, on 10 hits.
UNLV struck first in the third inning when Joey Armstrong scored on an Air Force error. The Rebels added three in the sixth after they started the inning with four consecutive hits. Mark Shannon scored on an Erik VanMeetren single, Brandon Bayardi scored on a fielder's choice and VanMeetren scored on a Bryan Bonnell single.
Matt McCallister led the Rebels, going 2-for-3 in the game. Joey Swanner returned to the lineup after being out with injury for the past few games, and went 2-for-4 on the night. Collin Yelich also finished 2-for-4 but had one of the Rebels' three RBI.
UNLV and Air Force will be back in action tomorrow at 2:05 p.m. The probable pitcher for UNLV will be right hander Buddy Borden (3-1, 1.31 ERA) and he will potentially face Air Force's left-handed pitcher Ben Bertelson (1-2, 5.13 ERA).
