Rebels Lose 11-3 To Sun Devils On Wednesday|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV baseball (22-10, 7-5 Mountain West) lost a midweek matchup 11-3 to Arizona State (20-9-1, 6-6 Pac-12) on Wednesday night at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
The Sun Devils exploded in the second inning, scoring eight runs. The Rebels answered with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning, but that would be the entirety of the UNLV offense in the game. ASU added three more runs, scoring one in the seventh inning and two in the ninth inning en route to the victory.
Arizona State was led by RJ Ybarra, who finished 3-for-4 and scored four runs. Trever Allen finished the game 2-for-3 with four RBI, three of which came off of his fifth home run of the year in the second inning. Sun Devil Zak Miller earned his second win of the year as he pitched 5.0 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
Leadoff hitter Joey Swanner led the Rebels, finishing the game 2-for-3 with a RBI and a walk. Justin Jones was the only other player to record multiple hits, as he finished 2-for-4 and scored one run.
UNLV freshman Bryan Bonnell started his first career game and took the loss after allowing seven runs in 1.1 innings. Tyler Iodence, John Richy, Nicolas Libonati and Brayden Torres all made relief appearances for the Rebels.
