Rain Dampers Rebels' Friday Plans|
Feb. 28, 2014
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Friday’s opening baseball game of a three-game series between UNLV (4-3) and Air Force (3-3) has been postponed due to rain.
Weather permitting, the Rebels and Falcons will play a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 12:00 p.m. PT. The second game will begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
UNLV junior Erick Fedde (1-1) is slated to face the Air Force’s Cameron White (0-1) in the first game and junior John Richy (1-0) will pitch for the Rebels in the second game against the Falcons’ Steven Trojan (1-1).
The weather had been overcast all day at Earl E. Wilson Stadium and the rain sprinkled throughout the morning but picked up in volume during the afternoon. The game was officially postponed to Saturday after reviewing the evening forecast.
This is the first time since March 4, 2005 that a game at Earl E. Wilson Stadium was postponed due to rain. In that game, the Rebels were playing Florida Atlantic when a spring storm set in and delayed that game in the third inning.
Fans that purchased tickets to Friday’s game can use them to attend Saturday’s game beginning at noon.
