@UNLVBaseball | NCAA Div. I Top 25 Polls/RPI

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team's 15-2 start to the 2018 season has garnered more recognition from the various NCAA Division I Top 25 Polls. After going 4-1 last week, the Rebels moved up to No. 21 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's poll, while the squad cracked the top 25 in four others: No. 23 in Perfect Game, No. 24 in USA Today and No. 25 in both D1Baseball.com and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

UNLV's 15-2 overall and 12-1 home records are tied with the 1971 and 2014 squads for the best marks in program history, respectively. With those records, the Rebels sit No. 5 in the RPI, trailing Clemson, Texas Tech, Auburn and Northeastern.

The Rebels began the year with a 3-1 showing at their season-opening Marucci Desert Classic before they won eight straight: four vs. Columbia, one vs. UC Riverside (road) and three vs. Fresno State. A road loss to CSU Bakersfield last week snapped the lengthy run; however, the team rebounded with a win at CSUN and, most recently, a three-game sweep of Iowa.

The Scarlet & Gray initially cracked the CBN poll last week, which had been the most recent publication to rank the team -- No. 27 in week 11 of 2014. During week nine of 2014, UNLV topped out at No. 16 in the Perfect Game poll, while it was No. 20 in Baseball America and No. 25 in CBN. The Rebels were last mentioned in the USA Today poll at No. 20 during the 2003 season
