Rebels Continue Play With Summer Teams|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball program has 10 student-athletes continuing their 2017 seasons in seven summer collegiate leagues across North America. Play is underway with respective seasons concluding in either July or August.
Three Rebels are playing in the Northwoods League with Bryson Stott and Tevita Gerber suiting up for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin), while Blaze Bohall crossed into Canada to play for the Thunder Bay Border Cats (Thunder Bay, Ontario). Stott, the 2017 Mountain West's Co-Freshman of the Year, has already played in 20 games with a .273 batting average backed by 21 hits that have helped produce 12 RBI and 19 runs. Gerber has made three starts and registered an 0-1 record with six strikeouts in 12.1 innings of work. Bohall owns a 2-1 record with 17 strikeouts in four starts and 24 innings of work.
Max Smith and Grant Robbins are both playing in the California Collegiate League for the Rockville Rock Hounds (Fairfield) and So Cal Catch (La Mirada), respectively. The former is hitting .278 with five hits, four RBI and four runs in six games, while the latter has posted a .310 batting average with 22 hits, eight RBI and 10 runs in 15 contests.
Nick Ames made the longest trek of any Rebel, as he is suiting up for the Alaska Goldpanners in Fairbanks. Ames is hitting at a .414 clip with 12 hits, four of which have resulted in extra bases (three doubles and one home run), as well as 11 RBI and six runs.
Chase Maddux is pitching for the Brazos Valley Bombers (Bryan) in the Texas Collegiate League, and has started four affairs with two decisions. Overall, Maddux is 1-1 with a 3.46 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 26.0 innings and a total of five appearances.
