UNLV's Keon Clark Suspended Indefinitely
LAS VEGAS - UNLV Runnin' Rebel senior center Keon Clark has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, the Athletics Department announced Monday.
Keon has appeared in 10 games this season and is averaging 14.8 points and 8.6 rebounds. He missed Saturday's game against Wofford with a case of conjunctivitis (pink eye).
"We are in full support of Coach Bayno and his staff," UNLV Athletics Director Charles Cavagnaro said. "The rules must be enforced for everyone regardless of who the student-athlete is."
In accordance with the Family & Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (The Buckley Amendment), no further information regarding the nature of the violation will be released.
STATEMENT BY KEON CLARK:
"I am sorry this situation has happened. I violated team rules and I must face the consequences. I respect Coach Bayno's decision. Obviously, I never anticipated my senior season to turn out like this. I love UNLV and the Las Vegas community."
