Amundson begins his fifth season with the Runnin' Rebels in 2005-06 ... played in 2001-02 as a freshman and 2003-04 as a sophomore, but sat out 2002-03 with a medical redshirt ... has played in 91 career games and started 39 ... has a career shooting percentage of 54.1 percent ... has six career double-doubles (five during his junior year) ... has scored in double figures 18 times ... pulled down 10 or more rebounds eight times.

JUNIOR (2004-05)

Earned honorable mention for All-Mountain West Conference team ... named MWC Player of the Week on Dec. 13 ... appeared in 30 games, starting all 30 ... averaged 7.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.4 bpg ... shot 56.1 percent from the field, but just 28.8 percent from the free throw line ... also recorded 1.0 spg ... finished fourth in the MWC in field goal percentage, fifth in blocked shots and sixth in rebounding ... led UNLV in field goal percentage and was second in rebounding, blocked shots and steals ... was fifth in scoring ... career high of 22 rebounds at Auburn tied for sixth in the country for most rebounds in a game in 2004-05 ... also had a career-high 22 points in the same game at Auburn ... had five double-doubles ... scored in double figures in 11 games and had double figures in rebounds seven times ... scored 20 or more points once and grabbed 20 or more rebounds once (one of only eight players in the country to do that in 2004-05) ... led the team in scoring twice and in rebounding in nine games ... one of five Runnin' Rebels to be named Academic All-MWC ... marked his fourth time earning academic all-conference.

SOPHOMORE (2003-04)

Appeared in 31 games and started the first eight of the season, averaging 16.1 minutes per game ... averaged 4.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg and 0.9 bpg ... shot 52.5 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from the free throw line ... was eighth in the MWC in blocked shots and 10th in offensive rebounding ... was second on UNLV's squad in blocked shots, third in rebounding, third in field goal percentage and seventh in scoring ... had one double double (10 points, 12 rebounds) vs. Western Illinois ... scored in double figures in four games ... scored a then-career high of 15 points at Colorado State and the 12 rebounds vs. WIU was also a career high ... led the team in rebounding with eight vs. California ... one of two Runnin' Rebels to receive the Academic All-MWC award.


Sat out the 2002-03 season with a medical redshirt ... made the decision to redshirt on Dec. 18 after not playing during the beginning of the season because of an infection in his thumb ... one of three Runnin' Rebels to receive the Academic All-MWC award.

FRESHMAN (2001-02)

Member of the 2001-02 Academic All-MWC team ... appeared in 30 games, averaging 10.5 minutes per game ... averaged 2.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game ... shot .500 from the field and .595 from the free throw line ... was sixth on the team in rebounding and fourth in blocked shots ... started for the first time in his career vs. BYU on Feb. 9 ... scored a then-career high of 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting vs. DePaul ... made the game-winning free throw in overtime at San Diego State ... had double-figures in points in three games ... scored 12 points vs. Utah and 11 vs. Florida International.


A 2001 graduate of Monarch High School in Louisville, Colo. ... played his senior season at Monarch ... prior to that was at Boulder (Colo.) High School ... at Monarch, he averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 1.7 steals ... the team finished 19-3 and made the sweet 16 of the state tournament ... he was second team all-state and played in the Colorado high school all-star game ... was the Front Range League player of the year and All-Boulder Valley ... coached by Ken Niven.


Louis Gabriel Amundson was born Dec. 7, 1982, in Ventura, Calif. ... graduated in May 2005 cum laude with a bachlor's degree in university studies with areas of study in English and philosophy ... currently working toward a second bachelor's degree in finance ... son of Dave Amundson and Eloise Berg ... has one sister (Alena).
