David Jackson

Last College: Texas Tech '01 Position: Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services Experience: 9th Year

David Jackson was promoted to Director of UNLV Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) in the summer of 2010. Prior to that he served as the department's Associate Director since May 2006.

In his role, Jackson's primary responsibility is to provide academic advisement and support services for the men's basketball, baseball, and men's golf teams, while overseeing and serving as administrator of the athletics department's academic support program.

Jackson earned both of his degrees from Texas Tech University; a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems in 2001, and a master's degree in Higher Education Administration in 2002. Before coming to UNLV, Jackson worked in the Texas Tech athletics department for three years; serving as a student assistant, a graduate assistant, and finally, a counseling specialist.

Jackson joined the UNLV Athletics staff in March 2003 and has moved up the ranks after starting as Athletic Academic Advisor, then Eligibility Coordinator.
