JUNIOR (2000-01)

Appeared in 18 games, starting 3, and averaged 6.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game … shot .380 from the field, .292 from 3-point range and .882 from the free throw line … was fifth on the team in scoring (6.2) and seventh in rebounding (2.2) … scored in double figures five times … fractured his third metatarsal in his right foot during practice before the season's opening game and missed the first 8 games.

SOPHOMORE (1999-00)

Made his UNLV debut against Air Force on Jan. 15 … in the next game at New Mexico he played 5 minutes in the first half and did not play in the second half because he fractured his fifth metatarsal in his right foot … he missed the remainder of the season.


“He has been somewhat of a mystery because of his injuries. He has not had a season that he’s been here where he has been healthy and able to get a whole season under his belt. Hopefully he will be able to do that this year. Lou has good size and can do some things on the inside and on the outside and that is exactly what we need out of him.”


He played the 1998-99 season at San Bernadino Valley Community College for coach Greg Winslow … he appeared in 34 games and averaged 25.8 points (876 total points), 7.1 rebounds (241), 3.3 assists (113), 1.9 steals (63) and 3.4 blocked shots (117) … his scoring average ranked third in the state and he led the Foothill Conference in scoring and blocked shots … he shot .516 (330-for-639) from the field, .415 (71-for-171) from 3-point range and .786 (143-for-182) from the free throw line ... he earned first team All-Foothill Conference, all-state and was a three-time member of all-tournament teams … his squad compiled an overall record of 25-9 and advanced to the California state regional finals.


A 1998 graduate of Cajon High School (San Bernardino, Calif.) … as a senior, he led the state in scoring with an impressive 38.7 average … named first team All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and San Bernardino County Player of the Year.


Louis Kelly was born August 22, 1979 … son of Louis Kelly, Sr., and Denise Thomas … majoring in fitness management … has one sister, Endya Thomas … hobbies include video games and baseball.
