Dave Tomchek is in his 15th season as the athletic trainer for Runnin' Rebel basketball.

Prior to returning to UNLV, he spent six seasons in the Atlanta Braves organization (1992-97), four years as an athletic trainer and the final two as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the minor league department.

Tomchek served as a graduate assistant and assistant athletic trainer at UNLV before joining the Braves organization. A 1988 graduate of the University of Michigan, he served as a student athletic trainer for the Wolverines. He earned his master's degree in education from UNLV in 1990.

A 22-year certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Tomchek has been instrumental in the care for athletes in high school, college and professional sports, including Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, USA Basketball and Karate, World Wrestling Entertainment and the National Hot Rod Association. He is currently also assisting NHRA Top Fuel Driver Hot Rod Fuller as his athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach.

Tomchek enjoys motor sports, pro wrestling, spending time with his family, dogs, and fish, and riding his bicycle. Dave and his wife, Denise, have three children, Wyatt, Michaela and Skylar.
