Dave Tomchek is in his 17th season as the athletic trainer for Runnin' Rebel basketball.
Prior to returning to UNLV, he spent six seasons in the Atlanta Braves organization (1992-97), four years as an athletic trainer and the final two as the strength & conditioning coordinator for the minor league department.
Tomchek served as a graduate assistant and assistant athletic trainer at UNLV before joining the Braves organization.
A 1988 graduate of the University of Michigan, he served as a student athletic trainer for the Wolverines.
He earned his master's degree in education from UNLV in 1990.
In addition to providing medical care for the Rebels, Tomchek has utilized his medical expertise to care for the NBA, MLB, USA Basketball, World Wrestling Entertainment, and the National Hot Rod Association's Top Fuel driver Rod Fuller.
Tomchek enjoys motor sports, professional wrestling, competing in Tuff Man Contests, and spending time with his children, Wyatt, Michaela, and Skylar.
