Bill Wuczynski Position: Assistant Coach

Bill Wuczynski, who began the season as director of basketball operations for the Runnin' Rebel program, has been elevated to assistant coach.

Wuczynski, who was in his second season as director of basketball, was promoted following the reassignment of former head coach Bill Bayno and the elevation of current head coach Max Good on Dec. 12, 2000.

Wuczynski first joined the UNLV basketball team for the 1994-95 season as a student manager and worked in that capacity for four seasons (1994-98).

As the director of basketball operations, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program and served as a liaison to the athletic administration and other school officials.

Other duties included assisting in organizing underclass and on-campus recruiting visits, film exchange/scouting for upcoming games, community relations, assisting with academic progress and the NCAA compliance officer and he was the director of basketball summer camps.

Wuczynski is a graduate of Maine West High School in Des Plaines, Ill., where he lettered two years in basketball. He served as an assistant coach at Maine West for two seasons (1990-92).

He was born Nov. 23, 1971, and is a 1996 UNLV graduate with a degree in physical education.
