LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - Brian Keefe scored a career-high 27 points Thursday night to lead UNLV to a 72-66 victory over Wyoming.
Keefe scored 16 of his points in the first half as the Runnin' Rebels (15-12, 6-7 WAC) took a 38-32 lead.
Wyoming (18-7, 8-5) outscored UNLV 11-2 midway through the second half to take a 55-53 lead, but the Rebels responded by scoring the game's next nine points to go ahead for good.
A 3-point shot by Keefe with 6:39 remaining -one of four he made in the game snapped a 55-all tie.
Wyoming's Andy Young made a 3-point shot with 1:04 to play to cut UNLV's lead to 66-63, but Keefe made two foul shots with 34 seconds left and Greedy Daniels made another with 23.7 seconds to go to clinch the victory.
Kevin Simmons added 11 points for UNLV.
Gregg Sawyer led Wyoming with 22 points, and Jeron Roberts added 19 for the Cowboys.
Neither team led by more than eight points. UNLV made 23 of its 45 shots (51.1 percent) while Wyoming was 21-of-54 (38.9 percent).
