NCAA TOURNAMENT NOTES -- The 75-56 Kansas victory advances the Jayhawks to their 25th NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, including the sixth time in the last eight seasons dating back to 2000...Kansas is the first of the four 2008 No. 1 seeds to advance to the Sweet 16.
QWEST CENTER OMAHA RECORDS/NOTES -- Each session of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds at the Qwest Center Omaha drew 17,162 fans, which marked a complete sell-out...Wink Adams' 15 made free throws tied a Qwest Center record, held by Creighton's Nate Funk when he also made 15 charity tosses against Dayton on November 26, 2005...UNLV's 12 field goals made is the fewest by one team in the history of the Qwest Center Omaha in a single game.

Adams hit a career-high 15 free throws against the Jayhawks ... René Rougeau led the team with eight rebounds, marking the 11th time this season he has paced the team in that statistical category ... UNLV fell to 4-6 on the season when trailing at the half ... FIRST HALF RECAP -- UNLV opened the game with a 3-point bucket by Curtis Terry just 32 seconds in and held a 3-0 advantage until Kansas scored its first points at the 16:41 mark on a jumper by Darnell Jackson ... The Jayhawks trailed 3-0, but scored the game's next nine points until the Runnin' Rebels broke a six minute scoring drought on another Terry triple at the 13:28 mark to make it 9-6 ... Terry hit 1-of-2 free throws with 12:30 left in the half as he scored all of UNLV's first seven points ... Sasha Kaun flushed an alley-oop dunk down at the 12:12 mark off a feed from Sherron Collins to give the Jayhawks a 13-7 advantage ...
