Runnin' Rebels Win Second Exhibition Game, 92-66|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Led by sophomore guard Jalen Poyser's game-high-tying 21 points on 7 of 10 shooting, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range, the UNLV men's basketball team defeated New Mexico Highlands, 92-66, in an exhibition game on Friday night.
Poyser also added five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 26 minutes on the floor in the Runnin' Rebels second and final exhibition game of the season.
Five other UNLV players were in double figures in scoring: sophomore guard Kris Clyburn (15), senior forward Tyrell Green (12), freshman forward Ben Coupet Jr. (11), senior forward Christian Jones (10) and senior guard Uche Ofoegbu (10). Jones grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
The Runnin' Rebels made 6 of 13 3-pointers in the first half, but just 1 of 8 in the second. The Cowboys outrebounded UNLV 53-26, but the Runnin' Rebels scored 35 points off NMHU's 27 turnovers.
Kieran Woods scored 21 points to lead the Cowboys. He was 8 of 17 from the field.
UNLV freshman forward Troy Baxter Jr. blocked six shots.
UNLV will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center vs. South Alabama.
