Final Stats

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Louis Amundson had 19 points and 13 rebounds and Jason Petrimoulx added 17 points Saturday night as UNLV snapped a five-game losing streak and beat Texas Tech 84-73 in the Las Vegas Showdown.

With the score tied, UNLV (3-5) went on a 19-8 run in the opening five minutes of the second half to take a double-digit lead.

The Rebels hit a trio of 3-pointers in the rally, including one of Petrimoulx's game-high four.

Texas Tech responded by scoring 12 of the next 15 points, cutting its deficit to 56-54 with 11:47 to play.

But the Rebels never gave up the lead and used 10 straight points from freshman guard Wink Adams in a 16-3 outburst that gave them a 72-56 lead with 7:24 to play.

Adams had 16 points - all in the second half - for the Rebels.

Texas Tech (6-5) got a game-high 22 points from both Jarrius Jackson and Zeno Martin. The pair were the only Red Raiders to score in double figures.

The first half featured 11 lead changes and five ties. The Rebels' biggest lead of the half was 17-10 with 10:42 to play.

UNLV was playing at home for the first time in three weeks. The National Finals Rodeo spends two weeks at the Thomas & Mack Center each December.
