UNLV Tops Chaminade, 77-49


LAS VEGAS (AP) - All 12 players on UNLV's active roster scored as the Runnin' Rebels routed Chaminade 77-49 Monday at the Thomas & Mack Center in the teams' first ever meeting.

Center Kaspers Kambala and guard Brian Keefe each scored 15 points to lead UNLV.

The Runnin' Rebels (10-8) pulled away from a 35-25 halftime lead to rout the Silver Swords (6-11) with a 22-10 run, capped off by a 3-pointer by Tyrone Nesby to make it 57-35 with 11 minutes left in the game.

UNLV overcame a dismal 3-point shooting effort in the first half (2-11) to nail 7 of 14 in the second half.

Chaminade shot just 32 percent, making 17 of 52 attempts from the field.

UNLV forward Keon Clark added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Chaminade was led by Darnell Clavon with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists.
