Clark Sparks Rebels in Return

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Keon Clark, playing for the first time this season, scored 20 points to lead UNLV over Tulane 77-61 Sunday night.

It was the Green Wave's worst home defeat in eight years.

UNLV (7-5) jumped to a 20-9 lead and went on to beat Tulane (5-7) for the second straight year.

Clark, who missed UNLV's first 11 games because of an NCAA suspension for taking a Florida trip financed by an agent, scored 17 points in the second half. He also had six rebounds and three assists.

Kaspars Kambala scored 14 points for the Rebels, who handed Tulane only its second non-conference home loss in 43 games.

Byron Mouton and Ted Kritza scored 11 points each for Tulane.

The game was a homecoming for UNLV freshman guard Edwin Daniels, who played at New Orleans' Cohen High School. He finished with six points and six assists.

UNLV shot a season-best 54 percent from the field, while Tulane shot 32 percent.
