UNLV Defeats Wofford 79-52
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Reserves Tyrone Nesby and Greedy Daniels combined for 30 points Saturday night, leading UNLV to a 79-52 victory over Wofford.
Nesby scored 18 points and Daniels had 12 points, five assists and four steals for the Runnin' Rebels (12-10), who broke the game open by outscoring Wofford 20-6 to take a 27-17 lead with five minutes left before halftime. The Terriers weren't closer than eight points after that.
UNLV, a member of the Western Athletic Conference, led 34-22 at halftime and outscored Wofford 15-2 to start the second half, making it 49-24.
Ian Chadwick led Wofford (6-16), a member of the Southern Conference, with 20 points.
Keon Clark, UNLV's starting center, sat out the game due to conjunctivitis. A school spokesman said Clark is day-to-day.
Wofford committed 23 turnovers to 13 for the Rebels. UNLV made 30 of its 57 field goal attempts (52.6 percent) to just 21-of-56 (37.5 percent) for the Terriers.
