Runnin' Rebels At Air Force Saturday Night

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Off to its best start to a season since 1991-92, the No. 12/15 UNLV men's basketball team (19-3, 3-1) has won three straight games (101-78 over TCU on Jan. 18, 80-63 against New Mexico on Jan. 21 in front of a sold-out Thomas & Mack Center crowd, and 77-72 in overtime at Boise State on Wednesday).
The Runnin' Rebels will continue this week on the road as they travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face Air Force (11-7, 1-3) on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. MST/6 p.m. PST. Saturday's game against the Falcons will be televised on The Mtn. with Ari Wolfe and Andrea Lloyd calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio broadcast, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM. The radio broadcast is also available at UNLVRebels.com through the subscription-based All-Access feature, while Gametracker is provided for free on the website.
As part of a collaborative initiative of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches, coaches and their staffs will be wearing sneakers as part of their gameday attire this Saturday to demonstrate their support of the Coaches vs. Cancer® “Suits and Sneakers” awareness weekend.
The Runnin' Rebels have won 10 of their last 11 games and this week's top-25 ranking marks their seventh week as a ranked team this season, which is their highest total number of weeks in the polls since 1992-93. UNLV's only loss over its last 11 games was at No. 13/12 San Diego State, by two points on a last-second shot.
UNLV is 26-8 all-time against Air Force and has won the last eight meetings.
