LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team will host No. RV/22 San Diego State on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. A large crowd is expected as only a very limited amount of tickets remained available for purchase to the game as of Friday morning.
The Runnin' Rebels are coming off a 71-56 loss at Air Force on Wednesday, which followed a 64-55 home win over then-No. 15/16 New Mexico. UNLV is 13-1 on Tarkanian Court this season, which includes 11 straight wins heading into this Saturday's contest. In addition, UNLV is 31-1 in its last 32 regular-season games at the TMC and has won each of its last 13 regular-season home games against MW opponents. UNLV has won two straight games against San Diego State, including earlier this year on Jan. 16 at Viejas Arena (82-75).
Saturday's game will be televised by NBC Sports Network with Paul Burmeister and Blaine Fowler calling the action, while Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM and online at UNLVRebels.com through the subscription-based All-Access feature. Dial Global Sports will provide the national radio call (Scott Graham, Bill Frieder).
UNLV leads the all-time series with San Diego State 34-21 but the Aztecs have won six of the last eight meetings and nine of 12. Tickets to Saturday's game start at $25 if purchased in advance of the day of the game.
Fans are urged to get to the Thomas & Mack Center early on Saturday to enjoy the Runnin’ Rebel FanZone, which will be set up on the plaza in front of the arena. There will be games for kids, sign-making opportunities, a Scarlet & Gray hair-coloring station and booths featuring UNLV’s corporate sponsors offering giveaways and coupons to fans. The FanZone will open at 3 p.m. with doors to the Thomas & Mack Center opening at 5 p.m.
