LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
The UNLV men’s basketball team (19-11, 8-9 MW) will travel to Logan, Utah, for its regular-season finale at Utah State (14-16, 7-10 MW) on Saturday, March 3, at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT.

UNLV is looking to get back on track and end a four-game losing streak. After a heartbreaking loss at New Mexico (91-90) on Sunday afternoon, in which the Runnin’ Rebels missed three shots in the closing seconds, they dropped their regular-season home finale on Senior Night, 101-75 to No. 21 UNR. In its meeting earlier this season, UNLV defeated then-No. 23 UNR in Reno, 86-78, on Feb. 7. It snapped the Wolf Pack’s 16-game home win streak and was UNLV’s first win over a ranked team since 2015.

Prior to its loss at San Diego State on Feb. 17, the Runnin’ Rebels had won three straight games and five of their previous six, including the victory at UNR. UNLV’s three-game win streak marked the first in Mountain West play for the Runnin’ Rebels since 2016 and the stretch of five wins in six games was its first in conference play since 2014.

The Runnin’ Rebels are currently in seventh place in the Mountain West standings, while Utah State is eighth. The winner of Saturday’s game will be the No. 7 seed in next week’s Mountain West Tournament and play on Wednesday, March 7 vs. the No. 10 seed at 1:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The loser will be the No. 8 seed and face the No. 9 seed at 11 a.m.

Saturday night’s game will be shown on ESPN3 with Ari Wolfe and Bill Herenda calling the action. Jon Sandler and former Runnin’ Rebel Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
