LAS VEGAS, NV - UNLV Runnin Rebel senior forward Tyrone Nesby has been selected to play in the annual Nabisco/NABC (National Association of Basketball coaches) All-Star Game on Friday, March 27 at 8 p.m. (CST) at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio.

Nesby was one of 20 players selected to play in the all-star game. In addition to the game, the team will practice in the NCAA Hoop City on Thursday, March 26. Participants selected from the all-star team will be involved in the Oreo Slam Dunk Championship and the Microsoft Hot shot Challenge.

Tyrone played two seasons for the Runnin Rebels (1996-98) and appeared in all 65 career games and scored 1,050 points (16.2 average). He was the first UNLV player to score 1,000 points in two seasons since J.R. Rider (1991-93). He also compiled back-to-back seasons of 1,000 or more minutes played. Tyrone became the first UNLV player to record consecutive 1,000 or minutes since Greg Anthony, Stacey Augmon and Larry Johnson in 1989-90 and 1990-91.

He was instrumental in UNLV capturing the WAC Tournament Championship. He was named to the all-tournament team and averaged 17.3 points and 7.8 reboG 5bjbj 2I]
