LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV head men's basketball coach Dave Rice announced Tuesday that sophomore guard/forward Karam Mashour was granted his release from the Runnin' Rebel program.

"I enjoyed my time at UNLV," Mashour said. "It was an honor to play for the Runnin' Rebels and I will always appreciate the support of my teammates and coaches. I look forward to finding an opportunity where there is more playing time available."

Mashour played in 13 games this past season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in 3.2 minutes per game. During his freshman year (2010-11) at UNLV, he played in 12 games.

"We appreciate Karam's contributions to our team," Rice said. "He is an extremely hard worker and was a big part of our success this year. He is a great person and we wish him the best."

Mashour is from Nazareth, Israel, where he attended St. Joseph High School.
