New Runnin' Rebel Named NABC Junior College Player Of The Year

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Shakur Juiston, who recently signed to join the UNLV men's basketball team, was named the NABC Player of the Year for the National Junior College Athletic Association.

A 6-foot-7-inch forward from Newark, N.J., Juiston led Hutchinson Community College in Kansas to this year's NJCAA Division I championship.

The sophomore All-American averaged a double-double, scoring 17.3 points and grabbing 12.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 60.9 percent from the field and averaging 3.9 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.8 blocked shots per game.

He had highs of 88 points and 56 rebounds in this year's NJCAA national tournament.
