LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed financial aid agreement from Jordan Cornish, head coach Dave Rice announced Thursday.

Cornish, a 6-foot-6-inch, 215-pound guard, will enroll at UNLV as a freshman this summer. A native of New Orleans, he attended Brother Martin High School where he averaged 23.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game last season.

"We are excited to have Jordan join our team," Rice said. "He is a versatile and explosive scorer that can play multiple positions. He has a great work ethic and is a terrific teammate. Jordan makes plays for others and is a very good rebounder."

A three-time all-state honoree, Cornish was ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana by The Times-Picayune. He has also earned all-area honors, all-metro and all-district three times as well. For his high school career, he scored 1,794 total points.

Cornish was also named to The Times-Picayune's All-New Orleans Large School team and was his high school's Most Valuable Player as both a junior and senior. As a sophomore he earned the team's Most Valuable Offensive Player award.

Cornish joins Cody Doolin, Patrick McCaw, Dwayne Morgan, Goodluck Okonoboh and Rashad Vaughn to make up UNLV's 2014 recruiting class. The class was ranked at the end of April by Rivals.com as the fourth-best in the country, only behind Duke, Kentucky and Arizona, and ahead of North Carolina, Louisville, Kansas, UCLA, Georgetown and Maryland.
