MWC Schedule And TV Appearances Announced

LAS VEGAS - The 2007-08 UNLV men's basketball Mountain West Conference schedule was released Friday by the athletics department along with its television appearances and most game times. The non-conference schedule was released in June.
The Runnin' Rebels will open MWC play on Saturday, January 5 at Colorado State and again play on the road on Sat., Jan. 12 at Air Force before returning to the Thomas & Mack Center for their home conference opener on Tues., Jan. 15 against BYU.
UNLV will play on television at least 20 times this season with 12 appearances on The Mtn., five on CSTV and three on VERSUS.
UNLV's first televised game of the year will be on Tuesday, November 13 against Dixie State. Other non-conference televised contests include Louisville on VERSUS, Nevada, Reno on The Mtn., UTEP on The Mtn. and Arizona on CSTV.
The Runnin' Rebels are scheduled to have 15 of their 16 MWC games televised through the conference's television package. The rest of the game times and any additional television appearances for the 2007-08 season will be released upon confirmation.
Current season ticket holders have until September 14 to renew their accounts, however new season ticket orders are being taken by calling the UNLV Rebel Athletic Fund office at 702-895-1533. Single game tickets will go on sale on October 15. Additional season and single-game ticket information will be released soon.
The Runnin' Rebels are coming off a Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship, a 30-7 overall record and a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance - the program's first in 16 years. Additionally, UNLV was 19-1 at home in 2006-07, including ending the season with 17 straight wins at the Thomas & Mack Center, which ties for the 10th-longest active streak in the country. UNLV was ranked 14th in the nation in the final edition of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
UNLV finished in second place in the MWC during the regular season last year with a 12-4 conference mark. The team is led by head coach Lon Kruger, who will enter his fourth season at UNLV in 2007-08 after compiling a three-year mark of 64-34. The 2007-08 Runnin' Rebels return one starter off last year's squad in junior Wink Adams and seven other letterwinners. Curtis Terry and Corey Bailey are the team's lone seniors.
