Mashour Becomes A Runnin' Rebel

Aug. 23, 2010

LAS VEGAS ( - Karam Mashour has enrolled in classes at UNLV and has become a member of the men's basketball program, head coach Lon Kruger announced Monday.

Mashour, a 6-foot-6-inch, 200-pound freshman guard/forward, is from Nazareth, Israel, where he played on the 18-and-under national team. He came to the United States in February and lived with his uncle in Las Vegas. During that time, he played for the Las Vegas Prospects AAU team, which is coached by Anthony Brown.

"Karam is a talented wing, who shoots the ball well," Kruger said. "He is aggressive off the dribble and he will be a really good addition to our program. He has an uncle that lives in town, which will help him greatly with the transition."

UNLV finished the 2009-10 season with an overall record of 25-9 and made its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years.
