LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's basketball will present FirstLook 2010 - its first official practice event of the season - at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, at the Thomas & Mack Center. Fans are encouraged to attend the free event, which is presented by RebelSwag. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and concessions will be available.

The first 4,000 fans in the building will receive a limited edition poster of the 2010-11 Runnin' Rebels from RebelSwag.

"Our fans have been amazing in creating such a great atmosphere inside the Thomas & Mack," said UNLV head coach Lon Kruger. "FirstLook is beginning to grow into something special as it helps to set the tone for the rest of our season."

On the court, the night features a team scrimmage. The scrimmage is preceded by a limited number of team and individual drills with fans getting a chance to see Rebel players show off some of their skills. Following the scrimmage, fans will be invited onto the floor to meet Runnin' Rebel players for a limited time.

Kruger said he hopes fans will treat FirstLook as they would a game.

"This city has been amazing with its support in recent years," Kruger said. "And it is making an impact."

UNLV is coming off a 25-9 season in which it advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the past four seasons. The Runnin' Rebels return seven key players - including all five starters from last year's NCAA Tournament appearance - and add two key members to its squad in 6-foot-8 Quintrell Thomas (a sophomore who transferred from Kansas) and 6-foot-11 Carlos Lopez (who redshirted last season). Thomas and Lopez are expected to bolster UNLV's interior presence this season.

Also during FirstLook, fans will have the opportunity to check out some of the best seats remaining in the lower level of the Thomas & Mack Center that are available to purchase in a season ticket package. Ticketing and Rebel Athletic Fund representatives will be available to answer questions and/or help fans purchase season tickets that evening.

UNLV grew to No. 18 in the nation in home attendance last season, including being No. 1 on the West Coast.

UNLV has won 20 or more games in each of the past four seasons. It marks the first time the Runnin' Rebels have accomplished that feat since 1989-93. In fact, UNLV is just one of five teams in the West to have won 100-plus games over the past four seasons. (BYU, UCLA, Gonzaga and Utah State are the others.)

Season tickets are currently available for purchase for the 2010-11 Runnin' Rebel season. Seating is available in the lower level in both donor and non-donor areas and starts at $485. Balcony season tickets for 16 home games at the Thomas & Mack Center are available for $175 and $90.
