Oct. 11, 2007
LAS VEGAS - Single-game tickets for the 2007-08 UNLV men's basketball campaign will go on sale on Monday, October 15th at 10 a.m., the athletics department announced Thursday.
Tickets may be purchased at the Thomas & Mack Center Ticket Office, online at UNLVTickets.com or by calling 702-739-FANS (3267).
Contests against Louisville and Nevada, Reno, the continuation of a four-year series with Arizona and the Duel in the Desert highlight the 2007-08 non-conference home schedule. Mountain West Conference action begins at home on January 15th against BYU.
Prices for the Arizona, Louisville and Nevada, Reno games are $36 for plaza and $18 for balcony. All other games at the Thomas & Mack Center during the regular season are priced at $30 for plaza and $14 for balcony.
Season tickets for the 19-game home schedule are still available and are priced at $450 for plaza level tickets, $280 for dugout and $165 for balcony. A Rebel Athletic Fund donation is also required for certain seat locations.
The Dec. 8 game against Fresno State at the Orleans Arena is not part of UNLV's season ticket package. The game will be sold as a single-game ticket for $35 and a specially priced ticket for UNLV students will be available.
The Runnin' Rebels are led by head coach Lon Kruger, who is in his fourth season at UNLV after compiling a three-year mark of 64-34. His squad won the Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship in March, finished with a 30-7 overall record and made a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance - the program's first in 16 years.
Additionally, UNLV was 19-1 at home in 2006-07, including ending the season with 17 straight wins at the Thomas & Mack Center, which ties for the 10th-longest active streak in the country. UNLV was ranked 14th in the nation in the final edition of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
UNLV finished in second place in the MWC during the regular season last year with a 12-4 conference mark. The 2007-08 Runnin' Rebels return one starter off last year's squad in junior Wink Adams and seven other letterwinners. Curtis Terry and Corey Bailey are the team's lone seniors.
