LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV sophomore Mike Moser has been named the Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through November 20, the league announced Monday morning.

The 6-foot-8-inch forward from Portland, Ore., averaged a double-double while helping lead the Runnin' Rebels to a a 3-0 record last week with wins over Nevada, Reno, Canisius and Morgan State.

Moser opened the week with eight points and 11 rebounds in a 71-67 win over intrastate-rival UNR on Monday, adding a career-high five steals, two blocked shots and an assist. He followed with a then-career-high 19 points and nine rebounds in the Runnin' Rebels' 95-70 victory over Canisius on Thursday, going 8-of-12 from the field. Moser also dished out a then-career-best five assists to go with three steals and two blocked shots against the Golden Griffins.

In his final outing of the week, a 92-55 victory over Morgan State on Sunday, Moser recorded his second career double-double, establishing a new career-high with 23 points and added 17 rebounds. He also dished out a career-high six assists and matched his career-high of five steals.

For the week, Moser shot 55 percent (22-of-40) from the field and 85 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line, while averaging 16.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 4.3 steals, 4.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in 27.7 minutes of action. This is the first career weekly accolade for Moser.

The Runnin' Rebels are 4-0 on the season and their next game will be Tuesday, Nov. 22 against Cal Poly at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will be part of a doubleheader as the UNLV women's basketball team will face UTSA at 5 pm at the Thomas & mack Center.

Moser leads the team in scoring (16.5 ppg), rebounding (14.3 rpg) and steals (3.8 spg). He also leads the nation in rebounding.
