Stanback Named Mountain West Player Of The Week|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior Chace Stanback has been named as the Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through December 25, the league announced Monday. This is the second career weekly accolade for Stanback and the third of the season for a UNLV player.
The 6-8 guard/forward from Los Angeles, Calif., averaged 22 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last week, while leading No. 19/20 UNLV to a 2-0 record.
Stanback recorded career highs of 29 points and eight made 3-pointers in an 81-63 win over Louisiana-Monroe last Monday, connecting on 8-of-9 from behind the arc and 10-of-13 from the field overall. He also had four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes of action vs. the Warhawks. He made all five of his 3-point attempts in the first half.
Stanback followed that performance with 15 points, three rebounds and one assist in Friday's 85-68 victory over California. He was 6-of-12 from the field against the Bears, including making a trio of 3-pointers, while adding one assist in 29 minutes of action. He was one of four Runnin' Rebel players in double figures in points against the Golden Bears.
For the week, Stanback was 16-of-25 (.640) from the field, including 11-of-16 (.688) from 3-point range.
UNLV hosts Central Arkansas at the Thomas & Mack Center on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. for its final home non-conference game of the season, and will play at Hawaii on Saturday, Dec. 31.
