Former college signal-caller and pro assistant Noah Brindise is back for his second season as UNLV's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. "Noah Brindise is an excellent offensive coach and is one of the rising, young coaches in the country," UNLV head coach Mike Sanford said. "With his background, which includes NFL experience, he brings a lot to the table for such a young coach." Brindise came to Las Vegas after serving last season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at East Carolina University of Conference USA. He joined the Pirates after two years with the NFL's Washington Redskins as quarterbacks coach under Steve Spurrier. Brindise played quarterback for Spurrier at the University of Florida from 1995-97. Brindise began his coaching career in 1998 as offensive coordinator at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., and then spent three years as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater in Gainesville. There he coached on three Gator bowl teams, including the 2000 SEC Championship squad. The Fort Myers, Fla., native graduated from Florida in 1999 with a degree in sports administration. After starting his career as a walk-on, Brindise went on to be a three-year letterwinner for the Gators and played on three New Year's Day bowl teams, including the 1996 national championship squad. A two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, he was named to the honorable mention team for the 1997 College Football Chronicle's Unsung Hero All-American Team. Brindise and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of a daughter, Caelan, born on Nov. 4, 2003, and welcomed son Jackson William on June 24, 2005.
