We check in on eight former UNLV players currently in the NFL.

UNLV: Became the first UNLV football player in history to leave school early to enter the NFL Draft when he announced on Dec. 26, 2006, his decision to not play his senior season ... A quick, glue-like defender, who became eligible to play this past season after transferring to UNLV from USC and sitting out a full season.

2006: Played in nine of 12 games, starting six of them at one cornerback spot for the Rebels ... Was leading the Mountain West Conference in passes defended with 2.0 per game before missing three straight games (Colorado State, New Mexico and BYU) because of a lingering knee injury from a previous season ... Underwent arthroscopic surgery on Oct. 9 and made his return at Utah on Oct. 28 ... Played in the last five games and finished with nine passes defended in just nine total dates ... Also became a two-way player vs. TCU for the first time when he lined up on offense as both a wideout and quarterback vs. the Frogs ... Finished the season with two carries for 36 yards rushing ... Named Second Team All-Mountain West Conference by the league's coaches and media ... Totaled 29 tackles and one forced fumble and one interception, which he returned 32 yards at Iowa State ... Finished the regular season tied for third in the MWC and 40th nationally in passes defended with 1.0 per game ... A speed-burner on special teams who also ranked second in the conference and 34th in the nation in kickoff returns with a 23.9-yard average ... Returned 18 kickoffs for 430 yards with a long of 54 ... Ranked the No. 8 transfer in the nation for 2006 by College Football News ... Named preseason first team All-MWC by College Football News, which also ranked him the No. 11 player overall in the league ... Ranked the No. 48 cornerback in college football by Phil Steele's ... Also a preseason second team All-MWC pick by Phil Steele's and Athlon ... Touted as the MWC Newcomer of the Year by both Lindy's and Blue Ribbon ... A member of the 2006 Rebel Leadership Committee.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: Spent two seasons at the Pac-10 powerhouse ... As just a redshirt freshman in 2004, emerged as a starting cornerback for Trojans' last four games after serving as an often-used backup earlier in season ... While appearing in all 13 games, had 33 tackles, including two sacks for 13 yards, plus six deflections, a fumble recovery and two interceptions, which he returned for 22 yards (11.0 avg.) ... Made 2004 The Sporting News Freshman All-Pac-10 first team ... Had five tackles against California (and a fumble recovery on a punt that set up a field goal) and UCLA, four stops against Arizona, Notre Dame (with two deflections) and Oklahoma, and three tackles versus Arizona State ... His interceptions came against Colorado State and then Oklahoma in the BCS Championship Game ... Wright redshirted the 2003 season as a freshman cornerback in his first year at USC.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Arch Bishop Riordan HS in San Francisco ... A 2002 Super Prep All-American, Super Prep All-Farwest, PrepStar All-West, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, All-Northern California Co-MVP and San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro first team honoree as a senior running back and defensive back for the Crusaders ... Rushed for 1,166 yards and 17 TDs and caught 18 passes for 268 yards (14.9 avg.) with four TDs on offense in 2002, and made 80 tackles (31 solo), four forced fumbles, two interceptions and 10 deflections on defense.
