UNLV Head Coach Bobby Hauck
Opening statement…

“I thought our guys fought hard, thought Reno did a nice job, they were well prepared and played a good game. They just outplayed us tonight. We had a few opportunities and they didn’t allow us to capitalize on them and they came out with a win and that’s disappointing.”

On the Nevada, Reno offense…
“They test you and they continue to test you and if you get out of gaps they make you pay. It’s a good offense and the people running it are awfully good.”

On UNLV’s special teams play…
“The kicking game looked good. We had some big plays in the special teams, two big kickoff returns and a caused fumble on the punt coverage that set up a score. It was good for us tonight.”

Nevada, Reno Head Coach Chris Ault
On the win and the cannon staying blue…
“The cannon stays blue six straight times. The seniors have never lost to UNLV. That’s pretty special.”

On his team’s play…
“Good. This is a rivalry game and anything can happen in these games. I thought UNLV played well and our kicking game just put us in a hole all night long. Really disappointed in the way we played in our kicking game. Just backed us into a hole.”

On the fan support…
“It was great. Terrific. There were a lot of fans from Southern Nevada. We’ve got a lot of great alumni down here. We’ve got a great alumni base down here, a great football alumni base down here. So it was great.”

On feeling good going undefeated in non-conference…
“No question. It’s a great thing to get when you’re on the road two times. We’ve got to get better though. We are not where we need to be to be on a championship level consistently.”

On a rivalry game and throwing things out the window…
“They [UNLV] played pretty good last week. They really did. We respect their offense and defense. And like I say, we are not worried about UNLV. We are worried about us and how we play. That’s where the kicking game comes into play. It gave them some opportunities that we feel they shouldn’t have had because our defense was playing well enough to keep them off the scoreboard.”
