UNLV POST-GAME QUOTES
UNLV vs. BYU
10-10-09

UNLV HEAD COACH Mike Sanford

OPENING STATEMENT:
"First thing is to give BYU credit. They are a very good football team. They are the 18th-ranked football team in the country and they played like it."

"Going into the game turnovers was a big thing, to not turn the ball over, and we turned it over three times and they didn't turn it over at all."

ON REBOUNDING AFTER LOSING THREE STRAIGHT GAMES:
"Obviously it is a very difficult situation and we have to dig ourselves out. That is what I told our team, is that we have to dig ourselves out."

ON HOW THE TURNOVERS AFFECTED THE GAME:
"It affected things for sure because we did not score early in the game until we returned that kickoff for a touchdown. We were moving the ball half-way decent, and it wasn't like we weren't moving the ball, we turned it over."

ON THE PLAY OF BYU QUARTERBACK MAX HALL:
"He had time and he was able to hit open receivers and they had guys open. We didn't cover them and we didn't defend them like we were capable of."

ON BYU'S RUSHING GAME:
"We didn't tackle well enough to win. Any time a team rushes for 291 yards, you didn't tackle well. We have to tackle better."
