LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Former UNLV record-setting wide receiver Phillip Payne was announced as a member of the North team as the rosters for a new postseason game, The Players All-Star Classic in Little Rock, Ark., were released this week.

The Players All-Star Classic will be played at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 4, beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific. Longtime NFL and UFL assistants Martin Bayless (North team) and Kurt Schottenheimer (South team) were announced as the game's respective head coaches in December. The game is scheduled to be televised throughout the southern region of the country and on DISH Network by Comcast /Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST).

Payne, a local product from Western High School, caught more touchdown passes - 26 - than any Rebel in history. His 171 career receptions rank fifth all-time at the school and his 2,295 yards through the air stand eighth.

Payne is the second Rebel to make an all-star game roster this year as defensive back Quinton Pointer played in last weekend's The Battle of Florida in Boca Raton, Fla. Pointer's North team routed the South 51-3 on the campus of Florida Atlantic.
