Conference Football Opponents Announced
Feb. 12, 2013
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Football learned which conference teams it will be playing and where it will face them this fall as the Mountain West released information regarding its final scheduling rotation Tuesday.
Dates, times and television information will be released by the league in the coming weeks.
The scheduling format for the new 12-member, two-division football lineup was computer-generated and consists of five intra-divisional games and three cross-divisional contests annually. Each school will play four home and four road conference games each season, and will play every Mountain West opponent both home and away during each four-year cycle.
The first rotational cycle runs from 2013-16. In 2013, UNLV will host West Division rivals Hawai'i, San Diego State and San Jose State along with Mountain Division member Utah State. The Rebels will go on the road to face West teams Nevada, Reno and Fresno State along with Mountain teams Air Force and New Mexico. The same teams play each other in 2014 with the home teams reversed. In 2015 UNLV will host Mountain team Boise State along with UH, SDSU and SJSU, while playing at Colorado State and Wyoming from the Mountain Division and Fresno State and UNR from the West. Those same matchups hold for 2016 but with home teams reversed.
