Lotulelei Turns Heads At NFL Combine

John Lotulelei was the first Rebel to attend the NFL Combine since 2010.

LAS VEGAS ( - Former UNLV standout linebacker John Lotulelei was a top performer in two different events as his position group went through drills at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine Monday.

Working out at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Lotulelei ranked second among 16 linebackers in the 3-cone drill with a time of 6.91 seconds and fourth out of 20 in the vertical jump at 35.5 inches. He also was sixth out of 26 in the bench press with 25 reps of 225 pounds.

The native of Kihei, Hawaii, and graduate of Baldwin High School and transfer from Merced College, was the first Rebel player to receive an invite to the annual event since 2010. Named First Team All-Mountain West and UNLV Defensive Most Valuable Player for 2012, his total of 120 tackles was the 10th-highest in the school's single-season history.

The NFL Draft is scheduled to take place April 25-27 in New York.

John Lotulelei - RESULTS VIA NFL.COM COMBINE TRACKER - Ran a 6.91 in the 3 Cone Drill, which ranked second out of 16 linebackers - Jumped 35.5 inches in the Vertical Jump, which ranked fourth out of 20 linebackers - Recorded 25 reps at 225 pounds on the Bench Press, which ranked sixth out of 26 linebackers - Ran a 4.30 in the 20-Yard Shuttle, which ranked seventh out of 16 linebackers - Jumped 117 inches in the Broad Jump, which tied for 16th out of 27 linebackers - Ran a 4.84 in the 40-Yard Dash, which ranked 22nd out of 26 linebackers
